Beginning Screen Print — Day 1, Saturday July 18
There’s a lot of planning and set-up that goes into making a screen print. In the class you will learn:
- How to construct an image—We will look at some prints and discuss how they were made. How many layers are there? In what order were the layers done?
- How to plan and prepare to print—Using paper stencils, we will create an image, prepare screens, and set up a press.
- Basic registration.
- Squeegee technique—How the heck does this thing work?
You will finish the day with a Screen Print Checklist and familiarity with the process and Remarque’s facility.
