The Multi-Plate Photopolymer Workshop: A Three-Day Intensive
Photographers, this workshop is for you!
Take your images beyond the screen and learn how to create rich, layered photopolymer prints in this immersive three-day workshop. While single-plate prints can produce beautiful black-and-white tonal images, using multiple plates opens up exciting possibilities for color, depth, texture, and atmosphere.
Over the course of the workshop, you'll learn how to prepare, expose, ink, and print multiple photopolymer plates to build a single image. We'll cover the essential techniques for aligning each plate accurately so that colors and layers print exactly where they should. You'll also explore creative approaches to color and discover how different combinations can transform a photograph.
The workshop combines hands-on technical instruction with plenty of room for experimentation. Topics include creating color separations, working with CMYK printing, and using positive and negative images to achieve unique visual effects. By the end of the workshop, you'll have created your own layered photopolymer prints and gained the skills needed to continue exploring this process on your own.
No prior experience with photopolymer printmaking is required. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or digital image editing can be helpful, but beginners are welcome. If you're curious about expanding your photographic or printmaking practice, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence to get started.
